Information for the port Tinos

The port of Tinos is one of the most crowded ports in Greece. Thousands of pilgrims visit the island for the church of Panagia Evangelistria. The port which is now used by the ferries is the Exo Port, the new port of Tinos which is 10 minutes away from the old port.

Information about Tinos

Tinos is famous for its religious tradition, because of the many churches with Panagia Evangelistria being the most important one. Thousands of visitors travel each year to worship the icon of the Virgin Mary, hosted at the church. On August 15th, the faithful ones fulfill their vows to the Virgin Mary, starting from the port and arriving at the entrance of the church on their knees.

Tinos is also a destination for a beautiful holiday with many important monuments and an intense nightlife. It's full of whitewashed mountain villages with impressive architecture such as Steni, Pyrgos and Kardiani.

The most organized beaches of the island are close to the center such as Agios Fokas, Agios Romanos, Agios Ioannis Porto and Kionia. For more isolated beaches head to the northern part of the island.
